Welcome to the GTMS QuickStart page. Here you can find information on downloading common software, such as SolidWorks and the Argo server, basic information about the team, and when to use which storage locations. direction of the slashes when entering the address into File Explorer.

Basic GTMS Info.

GTMS is Georgia Tech's first competitive engineering organization. Our primary competition occurs at the beginning of the summer in the Michigan International Speedway as a part of the Formula SAE competition (known as Formula Student in Europe). For more information about comp, see the Competition Pages section of the home screen.

Location

Our shop is located in the Student Competition Center (SCC), just off West Campus. This is a shared space with other competitive engineering orgs, so be courteous and cooperative with the other teams.

Team Structure

GTMS is led by the Executive team made up of the Team Lead and Chief Engineer. Below them are the Directors and Sub-System leads. The Executive team, Directors, and Leads have a weekly meeting open to all GTMS members.

Common Software Packages and Servers

For CAD modeling, the team uses SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM for CAD file storage and management. For simulation files and other data, we use the Argo server, which can mount to any computer's file explorer as a network drive. For programming files, such as MatLab scripts, use the GTMS GitHub. For all other files, we use SharePoint. It is recommended to add a SharePoint shortcut to your personal OneDrive. Although it is possible to upload files to this Wiki, only files meant to be displayed on a page should be uploaded. The Wiki is meant to document team knowledge and history and help organize other data via links to SharePoint or Argo.
