OxiClean’s White Revive is our favorite laundry whitener and booster; it’s easy to use, with no dilution or presoaking needed. It brightens whites and even refreshes colored garments, and it comes in a generously sized 80-ounce tub. To truly test its power, our editor used this powder on two different loads, one with her white tops and dresses, and the other filled with colors (you can imagine the nerves in that laundry room!). After just one wash cycle, her slightly dingy garments were noticeably brighter, and her colored items came out without discoloration or uneven fading. Aliyah very rarely whitens her whites, but when she does she reaches for whatever bleach she can quickly find. For the best whitening results, the brand recommends presoaking your garments, especially if you’re targeting stains. And while we usually get better whitening results from presoaking, surprisingly, with this powder we didn’t see much of a difference between the two-hour soak and adding the whitener straight into the wash with our detergent.
