General Guidelines[edit | edit source]
- If you make a new page, send a message in #sub_wiki letting people know.
- Remember this is meant to be long-term documentation, so your audience may be students years from now. Make sure it is understandable for people you do not and do not know you.
- Keep it professional. We want this to be easily searchable and not overly cluttered.
- When naming new pages, write out complete names without abbreviations and use underscores in places of spaces (Media Wiki will display underscores as a space). This will ensure pages are easily searchable.
General Tips[edit | edit source]
- This site uses the MediaWiki engine, which has very good online documentation. If you have a question, look it up first or ask Chat; if that doesn't work, feel free to reach out to the Wiki Lead (currently Caleb Kopitsky).
- To create a new page, either: search the desired name in the search bar, hit enter, and choose to create a new page; or create a new link with the new page name. To add a space to a page name, use an underscore. Make sure to send a message in #Sub_Wiki when making a new page.
- If you want to link to a specific heading within a wiki page, open "Edit source", find your link, and add a hashtag with the heading title. Ex: [[Page title#Heading Name|link's display]]
